I received a message from Robert Sanchez who was in communication on a 330 GT (S/N 6209) that was attempting to sell on ebay for only $8,200. After a
lengthy email exchange with the seller who described the car as such:
"1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 Series I, 4-Headlight with 88220 miles. No Rust. It is in very nice condition both cosmetically and
mechanically. The paint is in very good condition. The chrome is very good as well. The entire interior has been redone and looks like new. The Borranis
are in great shape. This car looks, runs and drives superbly and is ready to drive. It comes with clear title."
Anyway, Robert check the 330Register database and noticed that it was most recently for sale at Exoticars-Pittsburgh for $67,900, and is in fact, still is! When
the current owners were contacted, the response was "I am not selling on Ebay, and certainly not for only $8200." Ebay has taken down the listing.
The moral of the story is to do your research on a car thoroughly before purchase in addition to "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is." You get to understand when the importance of
keeping histories on these cars when things happen such as this. Keep you eye out!
